AHUA Mentoring Programme
All Auckland Umpires Association members have the ability to receive mentoring/feedback to assist their umpiring and personal development. Umpires keen to be involved will be assigned a Key Mentor who will be their main point of contact and will work directly with the umpire when possible throughout the season. The list of Key mentors can be seen below.
To assist with the vast number of appointments each week, umpires are assigned to a Panel which will indicate which games they are automatically assigned to using our appointments software MatchRef.
The panel an umpire is allocated is based on assessments carried out by the Key Mentors throughout the season. The assessment criteria and results of any assessments taken can be made available to the umpire via their mentor.
The panels are a fluid system that is updated multiple times throughout the season, allowing for movement up and down the panels within one season.
An umpires panel does not indicate that is the only grade/games they will be appointed to, umpires can be appointed to any game/grade however the system will not automatically appoint an umpire outside of their grade without approval of the appointments officer.
For more information on panels and assessments please contact your Key Mentor
